October 10, 2019

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dr. Jeremy Jorgenson @ 10:50 pm

Can you believe it’s almost Halloween again?! Do you plan to dress up and trick or treat or stay in and pass out Halloween candy? Whatever fun activities you have planned, this Halloween is more than just a time to play dress up. It’s also a chance to do some good and save your smile (and waistline) in the process.

This Halloween, local trick-or-treaters will join kids across the country when they donate their extra Halloween candy to Operation Gratitude at Advanced Dental Care, 3033 Bristol St. Ste. AA, Costa Mesa, CA 92626. The sweet treats will be included along with handwritten thank you letters in Care Packages sent to U.S. Service Members deployed overseas, and hand delivered to Veterans and First Responders serving in their local communities.

Operation Gratitude

Operation Gratitude is a local organization in Chatsworth, CA that works year-round to make our troops overseas feel special and loved. “Operation Gratitude’s mission is to thank all who serve, forging strong bonds between grateful Americans and the Heroes who serve and protect them,” according to Kevin Schmiegel, Lieutenant Colonel, USMC (Ret.) and CEO of Operation Gratitude. “The Halloween Candy Give-Back Program provides every American child the opportunity to learn about service, sacrifice and generosity.”

Donate and Win

Donate your unwrapped leftover Halloween candy, personal toiletries, and handwritten letters and you could win!

For each pound of candy donated to Operation Gratitude you will be entered to win our Halloween gift basket ($500 value), with the following items:

  • Oral-B Electric Toothbrush

Why You Don’t Have to Hate Going to the Dentist

Hate going to the dentist?

Concept phobia dentist, dentistry, instruments, hate going to the dentist, costa mesa dentist, dentist near me

For some people, going to the dentist is right up there with getting a colonoscopy, a prostate exam, a Pap smear (need I go on?). If you hate going to the dentist, take a deep breath, we’re here to help.

According to the Colgate website, “Dental anxiety and phobia are extremely common. It has been estimated that 9% to 15% of Americans avoid seeing the dentist because of anxiety and fear. That’s about 30 million to 40 million people. In a survey by the British Dental Health Foundation, 36% of those who didn’t see a dentist regularly said that fear was the main reason.”

Common Dental Fears:

  • Pain
  • Sound of Dental Tools
  • Needles
  • Embarrassment
  • Lack of Control

Sometimes patients hate going to the dentist as a result of one bad experience and sometimes it’s just a general fear.  The fear becomes a problem when patients avoid the dentist because of their fear.  Patients with dental phobia or dental fear who avoid the dentist often end up with painful, urgent dental conditions that require more serious treatment like fillings, dental crowns, root canals, extractions, etc.

Overcoming your Dental Fears

If you’re reading this and thinking, “I still hate going to the dentist”, than you’ve come to the right place. Whether you have a fear of needles or just the thought of a dental drill makes your skin crawl, we understand that the fear is real and we want you to know that we are here to help!

There’s no need to be ashamed or worried, we totally get it. We’ve heard it all and have been told how much dentists are disliked more times than we’d like to recount. That’s why we strive to make each and every visit to our Costa Mesa dental office as enjoyable as possible.

Gentle Dentistry in Costa Mesa

Great News! You no longer have to dread going to the dentist.  At Advanced Dental Care, we go the extra mile to ensure you have a positive, successful experience every time you visit us.  We pride ourselves on continual improvement to provide you with:

It’s that time of year where parents and students transition from summer vacation mode to back to school mode. While you’re busy gathering the items on your school supply list, shopping for new clothes, and getting your hair cut, don’t forget one of the most important visits you need to schedule: the dentist!

Seeing your dentist before school starts is the best way to ensure your child’s smile is in spectacular shape. This could be especially important if summer vacay mode included lots of carbonated beverages, sugary snacks like popsicles, or staying up late and forgetting to brush your teeth before bed.

July 11, 2019

Filed under: Uncategorized — Dr. Jeremy Jorgenson @ 8:17 pm

We are so honored and blessed to announce that this July we are celebrating 5 years in service as your Costa Mesa dentist! Wow! We really can’t believe how quickly time has flown by. We are so amazed and honored by your trust and loyalty in us.

What you mean to us

Beyond the business of dental care – we have met such wonderful people who let us become a part of their lives. From our patients, to our friends at the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce, to our family and friends – it’s really been an unbelievable experience. These personal connections over the last 5 years are truly the most memorable. The time spent laughing, crying, and making life-long relationships with all of you, it’s something we don’t certainly don’t take lightly.

Our growing family

Another amazing feat is the growth of our dental team. As a dental team, we’ve grown from one doctor and 3 staff members to two doctors, two front office staff, three dental assistants, and four dental hygienists! Growing our team has allowed us to see more patients and provide the highest quality of care possible. On a personal level, we’ve had three marriages, two babies, and one on the way this August (Dr. Jorgenson)! We are truly a family and we hope you love our dental family as much as we do.

How we’ve grown

Over the last few years, we’ve continued to expand our skill set, knowledge, and dental equipment including out iTero Digital Scanner, ICON Caries Infiltration System, and our Bioclear Matrix System. Dr. Jorgenson became an Invisalign Gold Plus provider and a proud member of the American Society of Implant and Restorative Dentistry (ASIRD).

Where we’re going

It’s very important to us to always be improving and being the best dental care team we can for you. We will continue acquiring the latest dental technology and attending Continuing Education courses. We plan to continue offer evening and weekend dental appointments, as well as, emergency dental care. Looking to the future, we hope we can continue growing (and who knows, maybe even one day open a second location)!

Being your Costa Mesa dentist inspires us to continue learning, exploring, and demonstrating the highest levels of dental care possible. It inspires us to teach more people about the importance of dental care, wellness, and leading healthy lifestyles. It inspires us to continue to be involved in our community and give back however we can. Being your Costa Mesa dentist inspires us to just be better!

Celebrate with us

Please join us for a 5th Anniversary – Party in the Park on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at Wakeham Park in Costa Mesa, CA from 12:00-3:00pm.
