Costa Mesa Dentist – Celebrating 3 Years!

On behalf of all of the Advanced Dental Care staff and Dr. Jeremy Jorgenson, Costa Mesa Dentist, we want to send the biggest thank you and gratitude to our loyal and amazing patients! In the last three years, our dental practice has grown so much. It has been an amazing journey thus far. Our dental team has tripled in size and are seeing more patients than ever. We owe it to our patients for being so appreciative and sharing their experiences at our office with their friends, family, co-workers and on social media! We also believe this is a reflection of the endless hours we dedicate to ensuring our staff, skills, and technology are always top-notch!

When we started Advanced Dental Care in July 2014, we were new to the Costa Mesa community. We didn’t know many people and we didn’t know how the patients would feel about seeing a new dentist. Thankfully, not only did the patients completely embrace the change, they were thrilled with the change! And the community embraced us too. We are so very thankful for the continued support and warm welcomes from the community.

Tooth Sensitivity causing Dental Pain

Tooth sensitivity can come in many forms and from many causes. You can simply be sipping in air, taking a bit of your lunch, or trying to concentrate at work and you notice that something doesn’t feel right. Tooth sensitivity, also called dentin hypersensitivity, can occur when the outer layers of the tooth, the enamel and cementum, become thin and expose the dentin layer underneath. When dentin is exposed, the tooth root and nerve are closer to the surface and more likely to become irritated.

Advanced Dental Care is partnering with the American Heart Association this February to celebrate National Heart Month!

All month long we will be bringing awareness of heart health and the link to your oral health. Maintaining good oral health can directly affect your heart health and vice versa. Sometimes we see that if a patient presents with active periodontal disease, they also have been diagnosed with high blood pressure or another heart disease. This is because the body is a system, and every subsystem is interconnected.

One of the main indicators of our oral and overall health is our gums. Regular exams by your dentist and hygienist can help detect abnormalities early on. Periodontal disease, for example, progresses in stages and when caught early can be treated more easily.

Gum Disease costa mesa ca When bacteria builds up on teeth and migrates below the gum line, the bacteria can irritate the gums causing early stage periodontal disease. When left untreated by a dental professional, the disease can quickly and easily progress to more advanced stages creating pockets. Pockets above 3mm in depth are cause for concern. What Causes Bad Breath?

Bad breath is the unpleasant side effect of the active bacteria in our mouths, foods we eat, smoking/tobacco use, poor dental health, and other medical conditions. More often than not, bad breath can be kept under control by regular brushing and flossing, including after meals.
